UK needs significant investment to fulfil renewable energy potential

Private and public investment are crucial if the UK is to realise the potential of its renewable resources over the next ten years, according to one company. "If we are to deploy renewable energy on the scale needed to reduce our carbon emissions then technology costs must fall," a spokesperson for Renewable UK said. "Significantly ramping up investment is the only way to do this, and that means a mixture of capital support from private investors, utility companies and government."
